We're All Superficial (Part 2)

We're all superficial because:

  • If there's a beautiful (chio/yandao) person and an ugly person standing side by side, we'd prefer to interact with the cuter one.
  • We may not be beautiful, but we always criticise others' looks (calling them CMI, etc.), and fix our glances on beautiful pple, while ignoring the other plain Janes & Johns.
  • We want to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", not Mark Lee and Patricia Mok.
  • We switch to another channel when we see a bunch of ugly pple in a particular TV programme (I doubt many pple rank "Villa Wellness" as their favourite show...).
  • If you see a beautiful person with a less-than-beautiful partner, you feel that the former has stamps on his eyes (aka eyes 'tat' stamp).
  • We feel smug when our partners looks better than others'.
  • We insist that inner beauty is more important, when the fact is, we won't even bother talking to a person to understand how beautiful his/heart is if he/she looks hideous.
  • We insist that inner beauty is more important but we spend more time, money and effort trying to look good, rather than put the same amount of commitment into "beautifying" our hearts (such as by doing voluntary work).
  • We refuse to acknowledge that we're all superficial.
It's human nature.
