This week...

Tues: 8km run, which didn't seem like 8km coz I finished in about 32 min.

Wed + Thu: Range. Slept for <7 hours in 2 days. Narrowly missed out on marksman ($200 + 1 day off!) on both days. Oh well, guess it's just not meant to be.

Fri: Clean arms + 1/2 day off.

Sat: Went for HC 歌谣 with the gang. Not really impressed by the quality of the compositions, but quite entertaining, esp. the emcees. 洪俊扬 made a guest appearance but nothing exhilarating since I ain't his fan. Not surprisingly, 智扬's team won...

Today: AHM + "The Devil Wears Prada".
It rained during AHM so we got soaked (again!). But the rain also spurred many to run, so it sort of speeded up the pace which wasn't a bad thing. Anw it's quite fun running down shenton way, across sheares bridge etc. but there were a lot of people so had no choice but to walk or slow jog most of the way until the last 5km.

"The Devil Wears Prada" was highly entertaining, and a rare certified "fresh" movie on rotten tomatoes well worth watching. For the most part, it was sharp and hilarious, though it eventually descended into a cheesy soul-searching/self-discovery storyline so typical of hollywood chick flicks (think "Mean Girls" and "Legally Blonde"). That aside, it has its fair share of LOL moments courtesy of witty scripting and a sterling performance by Meryl Streep as the titular "devil". Not to forget "bright supporting performances by Stanley Tucci (as Nigel) and Emily Blunt (as Emily), (and) the likable presence of (Anne) Hathaway", to quote one review. Cinematography is excellent (watch the fluidity with which the camera moves!), as is the score, which was very appropriate and suitably catchy. It's just one of those movies that show that good scripting, acting and production can overcome a formulaic storyline by adding spice and spunk.

Might be converting to 5.5 day work week starting next week, sianz. Hopefully can find time to catch "Snakes on a Plane" and "Crazy Stone". So many highly rated movies!
